. Courts Beware: The Obsessive-Compulsive
and Other Personality Disorders
Abstract
This prestation is about love and what happens to love when
it goes into the court system.
This is an expansion of my groundbreaking
book, The Narcissistic/Borderline Couple where I describe what happens
when a narcissist and a borderline join together in a marital bond and do what
I refer to as “the dance” (Lachkar, 1992). Aside
from this work, it has applicability to all kinds of couples including couples
going through divorce, many high conflict personality disorders.
Many practitioners treat patients going
through divorce experiencing difficulties with individuals with high
personality disorders in legal mediation. This article applies mainly to
narcissistic, borderline, and obsessive-compulsive personality disorders and
how their primitive defenses get in the way of reaching conflict resolution. Therapists
and legal officials are continually perplexed as to why people continue to battle
to the bitter end to get their demands met even to the extent of destruction to
self and others (spouse, children, family, career, reputation) until they
achieve their final goal―revenge.
Keywords: Narcissist, borderline, obsessive compulsive, histrionic, The V-spot, primitive defenses, mediation, marital therapy. psychodynamics, primitive defenses and cross-culture.[*]
2. How to Talk to an Obsessive-Compulsive (OCD. Book in progress (2022). E-Books, International Psychotherapy Institute. Jason Aronson. New York
This book is an outcome of Dr. Lachkar’s
groundbreaking book,
The Narcissistic/Borderline Couple. Followed
by How to Talk to a Narcissist
and How to Talk to a Borderline. Lurking
in the shadows is the pandemic
which has brought our attention to the
obsessive-compulsive personality disorder (OCPD) and reacquaints us with
familiar partners they often choose. The demand of the pandemic is very much in
concert with the OCD’s preoccupation with cleanliness and his/her obsessive-compulsive
behaviors. “Wear Masks,!” Wash your
hand!” Don’t touch anyone for fear of contamination!” This book takes into
consideration the OCD is not a clear and concise entity as their dynamics can seep over into other
personality disorders. Outlined are many different kinds of OCDS and the kinds
of partners they choose (often a histrionic). Included are various treatment
approaches and techniques. psychodynamics and two special
languages I originated suitable to meet the self object and splitting needs for
the OCPD. Additionally, I reintroduce my concept of the V-spot, integrate
listening techniques and offer an example of an initial session.
